Who we are, and this website

Who we are

BatSwing is run by [FOUNDER: legal entity], [FOUNDER: registered address], [FOUNDER: company number]. For this website and for demo bookings we decide how your information is used, so we are the controller.

Contact: [CONTACT EMAIL]

This website and demo bookings

  • Booking a demo. When you book through the calendar on our demo page we receive your name, work email, academy, country and the time you picked. Bookings are handled by Cal.com on our behalf.
  • Emailing us. We receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to include.
  • Hosting logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to run and secure the site.

Please don't send us footage, or any information about players, when you book or first get in touch. Footage only ever comes through the pilot process below. We use this information to reply, to run the demo call, and to discuss and set up a pilot. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our service and, where you ask us to set up a pilot, taking steps at your request before a contract. We don't sell your information and don't use it for advertising.

Cookies and visit counts

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and this website doesn't count visits at the moment. If we start counting visits, we will use a cookie-free service that doesn't identify you, and we will update this notice before we switch it on.

Content from other services

  • The demo page's Cal.com booking calendar may set its own cookies when you use it.
  • YouTube videos on some breakdown articles load only when you click play, in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may then set cookies or similar storage.
  • Some breakdown articles load a 3D viewer library from jsDelivr, which receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads.

Footage and reports in the BatSwing app

This section applies only to academies running a pilot, and their players and guardians.

  • The academy decides; we process. The academy is the controller for its players' footage, ball sheets, progress and reports. BatSwing is its processor and acts only on the academy's written instructions, under a data processing agreement.
  • The academy owns its footage.Footage belongs to the academy, not to BatSwing.
  • Players under 18.Nobody under 18 is filmed until a parent or guardian has given consent on the academy's consent form, and the player has agreed too. Adult players give their own consent.
  • Who can see what. Each academy's data is kept separate by database access rules. A player or guardian can only see their own student's sessions, read-only.

Sharing, improving and deleting

  • Shared reports.A report leaves the app only after the coach approves it. Share links are private, expire and can be revoked. Once a report has been downloaded or forwarded, the copy on someone's phone is outside our control, so the coach decides what to share.
  • Improving BatSwing.Off by default. Anonymised body-position data from a player's clips is used to improve BatSwing's analysis only if the academy turns it on and, for each player, the separate opt-in on the consent form is ticked. Names and faces are to be removed first.
  • Deletion. When the academy asks, we delete a student's clips, reports, frames and share links within [FOUNDER: number of days], and deleted reports' links stop working.
  • Where it is held.[FOUNDER: hosting region for app data]. For academies in India, this means data may be stored and processed outside India, only in countries the Government of India has not restricted.

Keeping it, and your rights

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails and bookings: [FOUNDER: retention period] after our last contact, unless your academy goes on to run a pilot, in which case our agreement with the academy applies.
